16 Week Countdown...24 Weeks

So we went furniture shopping last week on Saturday to look at some cribs and dresser, and the lady at the store totally freaked me out. She told me that we are cutting it close because we should be ordering our set now to have it in time. Whoa, whoa lady don't you know you aren't suppose to frighten pregnant woman you can put them into labor. Needless to say it has made us a little bit more serious about actually buckling down and  picking something out now!

So one of my biggest pet peeves about being pregnant is the stares i have been getting while i'm at the gym. It is phenomenal how many people give me nasty look like i am beating my child. Come on people i am just trying to be healthy and not gain too much weight! Nothing wrong with that.

How far along? 24 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 20 lbs
Maternity clothes? Uh huh! Tons of maxi skirts and dresses and comfy maternity leggings.
Stretch marks? No sir, lucky me!
Sleep: I sleep like a rock.
Best moment this week: The pure excitement that i have for meeting him is semi ridiculous. Ty said he loves seeing how excited I get and he is happy I am the one that he gets to raise his son with. That  by far has been the most amazing thing this pregnancy.
Miss Anything? Sushi, RedBull, and running. I literally cried the other day complaining that I couldn't train for a half marathon this year. It just feels weird not running.
Movement: Mmmmm Hmmmm
Food cravings:  Honestly nothing this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Triscuts and sometimes chicken.

Symptoms: Round Ligament pain. Its not as bad has it used to be lucky me!
Have you started to show yet: Ugh ya i'm a cow...
Gender: Boy
Development: Baby is the size of an eggplant.  He is about 9 inches long now (thank you for playing karate with my uterus McCoy) and weighs more than a pound and a half.  And don't look now (as if you could), but your baby's skin is turning pinker as small blood vessels form under the skin and fill with blood. Lungs and nostrils are also growing at this stage of fetal development.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Ecstatic
Looking forward to: My baby shower.

Wait i only have 4 months left?? S*!%

Ok, ok so I technically have 4 months and 3 days but hey whose counting!

How far along? 23 Weeks, 4 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 20 lbs (I actually have been losing weight, don't worry it's not on purpose)
Maternity clothes? Uh huh! Still a mix and match. Maxi skirts, maternity leggings, pretty much only maternity shirts since everything is now a belly shirt.
Stretch marks? Nope! Last night i was doing my daily inspection and thought i saw one and was going to cry but luckily it was just the lighting ;)
Sleep: Still super good.
Best moment this week: Umm probably his non-stop kicking last night. He hasn't been very active since last Saturday and I was starting to get freaking out!
Miss Anything? Sushi, RedBull, and not worrying about if what i am going to put in my mouth is good for the baby!
Movement: Ya buddy.
Food cravings:  Chipotle burrito bowls, and strawberry ice-cream with caramel and white chocolate chips. Hey, don't knock it until you try it!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Triscuts and sometimes chicken.
Symptoms: Round Ligament pain, heartburn. Swelling went away thank goodness.
Have you started to show yet: It looks like a basketball was shoved under my shirt over-night.
Gender: Boy
Development: Baby is the size of an ear of corn. He is about 8 and a half inches (surely taller based on his last measurements) and weighs more than a pound and a half.  I have to be careful about what i am listening to on the radio this little man can hear all sorts of sounds now while in the womb. From air exhaling from my lungs, mine and Ty's voices, to honking horns and dogs barking!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to:  Meeting him! I wish it was tomorrow to be honest.

Breezy Second Trimester

The second trimester is said to be the easiest and so far that is proving to be true. To be honest though this entire pregnancy has been really easy. I am certainly one lucky soon to be momma!

How far along? 22 Weeks, 2 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 22 lbs (Yup 4 lbs this month! Go me...haha)
Maternity clothes? Uh huh! Maternity clothes are just so comfortable I hardly ever want to wear anything else. However, I occasionally do when I want to look semi presentable.
Stretch marks? No! Woo hoo, sAo far so good.
Sleep: Still super good.
Best moment this week: Ty being able to feel his kicks on the outside :) His eyes lite up. He was so excited!
Miss Anything? Sushi and RedBull. Nothing too crazy.
Movement: He is a monster, i think he purposely is trying to beat me up from the inside!
Food cravings:  Chipotle burrito bowls! OMG...I could eat those all day er day! (Of course extra spicy)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Triscuts and sometimes chicken.
Symptoms: Round Ligament pain, heartburn, minor feet & hand swelling.
Have you started to show yet: Bigger everyday!
Gender: Boy
Development: Baby is the size of a Papaya. This week marks the beginning of some serious weight gain. My babies weight in the next four weeks alone should double. (What does that mean for me?) Babies heartbeat can now be heard through a stethoscope. What a throb! My babies skin is now reddish in color due to the developing blood vessels. The skin also hangs loosely around his little body at this point. It's only because the skin grows faster than fat development. But no need to worry baby will plump nice and good before he gets here.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, except I am starting to notice i am a tad bit sensitive!
Looking forward to:  Furniture shopping.

Come one come all

We LOVE having visitors. It is always so much fun to see those faces that we miss so much back home.

Two weekends ago we were so excited to have Gigi (Ginger) and Eric out to visit for the weekend. The flew in from an work trip Eric had in New York just to say hey! Long trip and tons of travel [just ask Ginger] for the short trip but we are so glad they made it. We went to dinner when we picked them up from the airport and then called it a night. The next day I was the best PDD [pregnant designated driver] anyone could ask for and took these three crazy kids bar hoping from beach to beach to beach. They were so much fun and seriously hilarious to watch.

 Huntington Beach Pier

Cabo Cantina is Ty's favorite drink spot! It's so cheap and as you can see you get a lot for your money. THANK YOU LIZ for telling us about it!

While we were at Huntington Beach before the bar....we stumble upon the coolest kite competition! Just tons of kites on the beach doing what they do to some good music. So we sat on the pier for a bit to watch.

Then after we left the bar on our way to dinner we stumbled upon this AMAZING sunset. First one I have seen while at the beach since we've live here. So cool...

Now last weekend we were lucky enough to go to San Diego and spend some time with Ty's cousin Cody who is stationed out there for the USMC. It was so good seeing him, and having family that close. We went to dinner and then the next day went to Sea World. Cody wasn't enthralled with what the park had to offer but hey at least he still came.

I am totally practicing my mommy skills by going to all these different theme parks to see if my kid will even enjoy it ;) I found myself having a little more patience for children, more than I typically do that is. I was certainly in stroller stalking heaven though! Who knew there were like 5 million different brands of strollers, not this momma.

Obsessed

It is safe to say that I am obsessed with my little man! Who know that these pictures could take hours of my day of me just staring! He is beyond perfect in every way and I cant wait to meet him.

We had our BIG appointment (20 Week Ultrasound) and I was freaking out the entire time. This is the appointment they check to make sure all of the organs are there, and everything is functioning/formed properly. So of course you want to think your baby is perfect and nothing is wrong with him but I mean what person ins't a little weary? Tyler had to calm me down all morning.

They make you drink 16oz of water before the appointment to get the best pictures and when we got there I thought I was going to pee my pants! The Dr. made me go to the bathroom because she was having to push so hard just to see the baby. Luckily she was able to get almost all of his measurements before I went to the bathroom and before baby Sned woke up!

Once this baby woke up the ultrasound was tough. He moves like a mad man. The doctor was even getting frustrated with him because she was trying to check all his organs. Ty and I couldn't help but laugh, we know he's ours that's for sure, he already cant sit still. He was doing somersaults and turning every which way. He was in essence saying "Hey, really guys? Couldn't you see I was sleeping. Just because you woke me up I am going to be difficult!" Oh he really is his mom's son. Oh and then the rest of the day be proceeded to show me just how angry he was and kicked the ENTIRE day.

All his measurements cam out PERFECT! He is one healthy baby. I have to thank my momma for making sure god gave us a perfect baby, she was looking out for us! We even found some surprises along the way...

HIS SWEET PROFILE! TE HAS MY NOSE, WHICH TY WAS GRATEFUL FOR. BUT I THINK HE IS GOING TO BE THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF THE BOTH OF US.
LOOK AT THAT TORSO!!!! YA OUR BABY IS AT THE TOP OF THE CHARTS FOR LENGTH BOOYAHHH HE IS ALREADY EXCELLING.

LOOK AT THIS LEG! THE DOCTOR LITERALLY STOPPED AND STARED AT HIS LEGS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO LONG ALREADY. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A TALL KID. OR AS MY BROTHER WOULD SAY LETS HOPE HE STAYS THAT WAY!
THEY CONFIRMED HE IS STILL A HE! AND WE COULDNT BE HAPPIER

So I have gotten a few question about what I want for my nursery and i have pinned tons of random stuff to my pintrest but here are some specifics that I cant get off my mind.

YEAH Baby is 1lb

I cant believe that I only have 18 weeks and 4 days left of this pregnancy (assuming full term). It is just insane to me that it has gone by this fast. I just cant believe it! We are so anxious to meet our little guy. I'm not ready for him by any means but I am certainly excited. I also found that a childhood friend of mine Tara is pregnant with twin boys and we have the same due date! Granted since she is having twins she wont carry those sweet babies as long as I will. What a small world is that?

We have been doing some research on best baby brands and what certain things are needed and why to stay away from others. All I have to say is WOW there is so much crap out there it is unbelievable. Luckily I think we are just about ready to put together our registry, yay! My awesome step-mom Rexine is throwing me a baby shower and I am so thrilled! Even better its the same weekend of my Grandpa Nelson's 90th birthday so I get to come back to Utah and celebrate both wahoo.

Bruiser is starting to show some jealousy. He thinks all of the babies stuff is for him. When i get something new in the mail he jumps onto the table or wherever it is and lays all over it. It's safe to say i have to wash absolutely everything and I hope this baby isn't allergic to B. [Side note: We take B to the Laguna Beach dog park every Sunday for the much anticipated full hour of non-stop running, that surely wear him out thoroughly. They have two areas at the dog park, an area for small dogs and one for large. Well The last two Sundays weren't any different. On the 24th we took him and he made a new little Yorkie girlfriend! They played together in the small dog park but when we were getting ready to leave the owner of the other Yorkie {Bella} went into the big dog park area. Well we typically take B to play with the big dogs too but didn't feel comfortable because of the breeds that were in there this particular day. Bella seemed fine when we left. However, I took B this last Sunday and saw just a few dogs in the big dog area so we went in to play, where a woman informed me that a Yorkie was killed just the last Sunday. A golden retriever and snatched it up and broke its neck. I'm sad to say that is was B's sweet girlfriend Bella! :( Needless to say B will not be going in the large dog park anytime soon, i'm a paranoid momma already!}

Other than that all is good on the home-front for us!
Last week was quite the week. I made a trip to Utah to hang with my awesome step-dad who definitely needed some company after losing my grandma (his momma . I think my family deserves a break this year. So nothing else can happen, i swear i have no more tears they have been all cried out. That is saying a lot since i drink over 100oz of water a day ;)

I am super excited for pre-natal yoga this weekend, it was missed while I was away.
I will post a much anticipate update with new ultrasound pictures once they are in hand tomorrow!

Bad picture i was rushing this morning and Ty wasn't available to take my picture.
