Breezy Second Trimester

The second trimester is said to be the easiest and so far that is proving to be true. To be honest though this entire pregnancy has been really easy. I am certainly one lucky soon to be momma!

How far along? 22 Weeks, 2 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 22 lbs (Yup 4 lbs this month! Go me...haha)
Maternity clothes? Uh huh! Maternity clothes are just so comfortable I hardly ever want to wear anything else. However, I occasionally do when I want to look semi presentable.
Stretch marks? No! Woo hoo, sAo far so good.
Sleep: Still super good.
Best moment this week: Ty being able to feel his kicks on the outside :) His eyes lite up. He was so excited!
Miss Anything? Sushi and RedBull. Nothing too crazy.
Movement: He is a monster, i think he purposely is trying to beat me up from the inside!
Food cravings:  Chipotle burrito bowls! OMG...I could eat those all day er day! (Of course extra spicy)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Triscuts and sometimes chicken.
Symptoms: Round Ligament pain, heartburn, minor feet & hand swelling.
Have you started to show yet: Bigger everyday!
Gender: Boy
Development: Baby is the size of a Papaya. This week marks the beginning of some serious weight gain. My babies weight in the next four weeks alone should double. (What does that mean for me?) Babies heartbeat can now be heard through a stethoscope. What a throb! My babies skin is now reddish in color due to the developing blood vessels. The skin also hangs loosely around his little body at this point. It's only because the skin grows faster than fat development. But no need to worry baby will plump nice and good before he gets here.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, except I am starting to notice i am a tad bit sensitive!
Looking forward to:  Furniture shopping.

Come one come all

We LOVE having visitors. It is always so much fun to see those faces that we miss so much back home.

Two weekends ago we were so excited to have Gigi (Ginger) and Eric out to visit for the weekend. The flew in from an work trip Eric had in New York just to say hey! Long trip and tons of travel [just ask Ginger] for the short trip but we are so glad they made it. We went to dinner when we picked them up from the airport and then called it a night. The next day I was the best PDD [pregnant designated driver] anyone could ask for and took these three crazy kids bar hoping from beach to beach to beach. They were so much fun and seriously hilarious to watch.

 Huntington Beach Pier

Cabo Cantina is Ty's favorite drink spot! It's so cheap and as you can see you get a lot for your money. THANK YOU LIZ for telling us about it!

While we were at Huntington Beach before the bar....we stumble upon the coolest kite competition! Just tons of kites on the beach doing what they do to some good music. So we sat on the pier for a bit to watch.

Then after we left the bar on our way to dinner we stumbled upon this AMAZING sunset. First one I have seen while at the beach since we've live here. So cool...

Now last weekend we were lucky enough to go to San Diego and spend some time with Ty's cousin Cody who is stationed out there for the USMC. It was so good seeing him, and having family that close. We went to dinner and then the next day went to Sea World. Cody wasn't enthralled with what the park had to offer but hey at least he still came.

I am totally practicing my mommy skills by going to all these different theme parks to see if my kid will even enjoy it ;) I found myself having a little more patience for children, more than I typically do that is. I was certainly in stroller stalking heaven though! Who knew there were like 5 million different brands of strollers, not this momma.

Obsessed

It is safe to say that I am obsessed with my little man! Who know that these pictures could take hours of my day of me just staring! He is beyond perfect in every way and I cant wait to meet him.

We had our BIG appointment (20 Week Ultrasound) and I was freaking out the entire time. This is the appointment they check to make sure all of the organs are there, and everything is functioning/formed properly. So of course you want to think your baby is perfect and nothing is wrong with him but I mean what person ins't a little weary? Tyler had to calm me down all morning.

They make you drink 16oz of water before the appointment to get the best pictures and when we got there I thought I was going to pee my pants! The Dr. made me go to the bathroom because she was having to push so hard just to see the baby. Luckily she was able to get almost all of his measurements before I went to the bathroom and before baby Sned woke up!

Once this baby woke up the ultrasound was tough. He moves like a mad man. The doctor was even getting frustrated with him because she was trying to check all his organs. Ty and I couldn't help but laugh, we know he's ours that's for sure, he already cant sit still. He was doing somersaults and turning every which way. He was in essence saying "Hey, really guys? Couldn't you see I was sleeping. Just because you woke me up I am going to be difficult!" Oh he really is his mom's son. Oh and then the rest of the day be proceeded to show me just how angry he was and kicked the ENTIRE day.

All his measurements cam out PERFECT! He is one healthy baby. I have to thank my momma for making sure god gave us a perfect baby, she was looking out for us! We even found some surprises along the way...

HIS SWEET PROFILE! TE HAS MY NOSE, WHICH TY WAS GRATEFUL FOR. BUT I THINK HE IS GOING TO BE THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF THE BOTH OF US.
LOOK AT THAT TORSO!!!! YA OUR BABY IS AT THE TOP OF THE CHARTS FOR LENGTH BOOYAHHH HE IS ALREADY EXCELLING.

LOOK AT THIS LEG! THE DOCTOR LITERALLY STOPPED AND STARED AT HIS LEGS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO LONG ALREADY. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A TALL KID. OR AS MY BROTHER WOULD SAY LETS HOPE HE STAYS THAT WAY!
THEY CONFIRMED HE IS STILL A HE! AND WE COULDNT BE HAPPIER

So I have gotten a few question about what I want for my nursery and i have pinned tons of random stuff to my pintrest but here are some specifics that I cant get off my mind.

YEAH Baby is 1lb

I cant believe that I only have 18 weeks and 4 days left of this pregnancy (assuming full term). It is just insane to me that it has gone by this fast. I just cant believe it! We are so anxious to meet our little guy. I'm not ready for him by any means but I am certainly excited. I also found that a childhood friend of mine Tara is pregnant with twin boys and we have the same due date! Granted since she is having twins she wont carry those sweet babies as long as I will. What a small world is that?

We have been doing some research on best baby brands and what certain things are needed and why to stay away from others. All I have to say is WOW there is so much crap out there it is unbelievable. Luckily I think we are just about ready to put together our registry, yay! My awesome step-mom Rexine is throwing me a baby shower and I am so thrilled! Even better its the same weekend of my Grandpa Nelson's 90th birthday so I get to come back to Utah and celebrate both wahoo.

Bruiser is starting to show some jealousy. He thinks all of the babies stuff is for him. When i get something new in the mail he jumps onto the table or wherever it is and lays all over it. It's safe to say i have to wash absolutely everything and I hope this baby isn't allergic to B. [Side note: We take B to the Laguna Beach dog park every Sunday for the much anticipated full hour of non-stop running, that surely wear him out thoroughly. They have two areas at the dog park, an area for small dogs and one for large. Well The last two Sundays weren't any different. On the 24th we took him and he made a new little Yorkie girlfriend! They played together in the small dog park but when we were getting ready to leave the owner of the other Yorkie {Bella} went into the big dog park area. Well we typically take B to play with the big dogs too but didn't feel comfortable because of the breeds that were in there this particular day. Bella seemed fine when we left. However, I took B this last Sunday and saw just a few dogs in the big dog area so we went in to play, where a woman informed me that a Yorkie was killed just the last Sunday. A golden retriever and snatched it up and broke its neck. I'm sad to say that is was B's sweet girlfriend Bella! :( Needless to say B will not be going in the large dog park anytime soon, i'm a paranoid momma already!}

Other than that all is good on the home-front for us!
Last week was quite the week. I made a trip to Utah to hang with my awesome step-dad who definitely needed some company after losing my grandma (his momma . I think my family deserves a break this year. So nothing else can happen, i swear i have no more tears they have been all cried out. That is saying a lot since i drink over 100oz of water a day ;)

I am super excited for pre-natal yoga this weekend, it was missed while I was away.
I will post a much anticipate update with new ultrasound pictures once they are in hand tomorrow!

Bad picture i was rushing this morning and Ty wasn't available to take my picture.

How far along? 21 Weeks, 3 Days
Total weight gain/loss: 18 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yup! The second i get home from work its sweats! I have two pairs of regular jeans that are hanging in there. Rest of the time its maternity leggings, dresses and maternity jeans.
Stretch marks? Nope! I don't think i am going to get them either. From what i remember my momma didn't have them. So like mother like daughter ;)
Sleep: AMAZING! I have been sleeping like a rock for the last few nights.
Best moment this week: Doctors appointment tomorrow. Cant wait to get updated pictures.
Miss Anything? Sushi! Still just sushi, ahhh i miss it.
Movement: Oh ya, as my brother would say he is an athlete already.
Food cravings:  Still spicy stuff. Not as bad as it has been but still the spicier the better.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just Triscuts. I have no idea why but i want nothing to do with them.
Symptoms: Round Ligament pain, heartburn, minor feet & hand swelling.
Have you started to show yet: Oh ya! I am massive cant you tell? I think my hips and thighs are growing the most haha
Gender: Boy
Development: Baby is the size of a Spaghetti Squash. Baby has finally broken the one pound mark! Wooohooo what a fatty. My little man is starting to develop his grip, holding tight to the umbilical cord for practice. He is starting to get more sense of light and dark. Hair is starting to grow on the top of his tiny little head, but still no idea what color because at this stage its bright white!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to:  Doctors visit!

Ok well here is the 19 week post that turned into my 20 week post! Isn't it supposed to be a slow time of year? Why the heck are we so busy then? School, work, life, we definitely have this balancing act down though, however my blogging has been lacking due to that.

20 WEEKS!!! YAY! Half way there baby. I am so excited. I'm not quite sick of being pregnant but i'm sure i will developing that feeling within the next 20 weeks. We are just so excited to meet our little guy.  Some days I feel huge, and super pregnant and the baby is kicking around like crazy, but most days he is mellow and I forget he's in there until i look down and see that tummy.

We went to mesquite over presidents day weekend to meet up with Ty's folks. It was really nice to see them and spend quality time. But that drive....oh man what should have taken 5 hours turned into 8 on the way there and 6 on the way home. We were so ready to be out to the car. It's funny how when living in Utah mesquite was such a nice getaway for weather purposes in the winter but coming from California there really wasn't a change. Funny how climate can change your vacation perception. It was still so nice to be there though. So quality reading time, golf and movie watching!

This past weekend was pretty nice. I had a late night at the office on Friday so i didn't get home until late so we just stayed in and watched some TV and went to bed kinda early. Saturday was nice I started a pre-natal yoga class with my friend Laurie. I am so glad I was able to convince her to go with me. It surprisingly is an amazing workout. So i signed up for every Saturday until i give birth.  We'll see how long i can keep going but hey there were a couple of chicks in there that were 39 weeks, the were "queens", if they can do it so can I! Sunday started off to be a sad day but to cheer ourselves up we took the pup to the dog park, his absolute favorite place and then down to Laguna beach to do some shopping and bird chasing (another one of his favorite pass times). It turned into THE BEST DAY.

This cool pier that we found tucked behind some houses.
Seriously B could chase birds for hours if we let him. Haha he also though it would be a good idea to stand in the sand and let the tide come up until it was in front of him and drink ocean water. That was a first.

How far along? 20 Weeks, 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss: 18 lbs
Maternity clothes? Yup, still the same as last time. I mostly wear sweats around the house, maternity leggings to the store and regular jeans to work, unbuttoned of course!
Stretch marks? Nope, still going strong! Thank heavens.
Sleep: Sleep is alright. I started getting rib/back pain so i toss and turn a lot.
Best moment this week: Knowing that i have a doctors appointment to see our sweet baby this week.
Miss Anything? Sushi, and sandwiches, really nothing else. I love just about everything i am able to eat.
Movement: Ya buddy. Still wigglin and kickin but really not as much as before. I have only felt him a handful of times in the last few days.
Food cravings:  Still spicy stuff. You would think this babe was Mexican! Chocolate milk, this started at the beginning or the pregnancy and has held steady.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Triscuts, oh man i hate those things right now.
Symptoms: Round Ligament pain, heartburn, minor feet & hand swelling.
Have you started to show yet: Oh ya! Showing for sure.
Gender: Boy
Development: Baby is the size of a Banana! Baby is working on swallowing. Practicing for when he makes his big debut. Baby also has pretty developed taste buds so what i like right now baby is likely to like when he gets here (better eat more broccoli). Our little man sleeps about 12-14 hours a day. He's pretty lazy ;)
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to:  Doctors visit!

Ok, ok I have been really bad at this the last two weeks. My apologies....Life is just crazy. I don't expect it to slow down, but I PROMISE from here on out 1 post a week at least.

So I will do a quick 18 week update and then later today I will post a 19 week post!

Oh ya see how my feet aren't showing...that takes some getting used to!

Better Late Than Never

Well BOY am I  sorry that I am late getting this post up. Our weekend was really busy (but fun) and this week has been busy so far too. I feel like life needs to slow down for a few seconds so i can catch my breath. Luckily we have a trip coming up to meet the in-laws in Mesquite. I am super excited. Unfortunately it is a golf trip and i'm not sure i will be able to golf so we will just have to see.

Our eventful weekend was so much fun. It started out with my super cute step-dad sending us a baby book that made me cry because it was perfect. I cant wait to record all his first things in it. It was so incredibly thoughtful. Thanks Dad! We enjoyed dinner on Friday with a couple of Ty's employees, he totally owed them a meal! On Saturday we had a date night with the Kelhi's where Laurie made and awesome dinner. Can i just say it is amazing having a friend that is pregnant, oh California has been good to me. Then Sunday we enjoyed the Superbowl and a friends house.

So far this week has gotten off to a good start. I starting "nesting", yup you hear it right NESTING. So what is nesting you ask? Duh...it's getting ready for the baby. They say it happens frequently throughout your pregnancy. Well me being the neat freak that I am i think it will happen throughout the entire pregnancy. Take a look at what i started to do yesterday....just a sample of what's to come. As you all know we have a tiny place with a S#!&* ton of stuff, so this was needed.

Here is an updated belly pic! Wahoo --- Not very good but i was totally running late this morning so this will have to do. I will post a new one of course next week. Who knows maybe i'll post a few!

Best moment this week: Starting to nest and make room for him! And feeling him wiggle around inside my belly. Still so incredible.
Miss Anything? Sushi, i don't think i will stop missing that.
